FAQ

What is a mutation in +1 Wings For Eggs?
A mutation is an extra tag layered on top of an egg's rarity. The egg floats the mutation name above it while you line up the steal, and after hatching the animal card repeats it under the rarity line — the pen's Active Animals panel shows Common rarity with Diamond and Cosmic underneath in our capture.
What is the splash mutation chance in +1 Wings For Eggs?
The game prints its own rate on screen: a 15% chance an Egg will spawn with the [Splashy] mutation, with a countdown icon in the same corner for as long as the window lasts. That is the only published spawn rate we could find in the footage, so treat any other Splashy percentage you see quoted as a community guess.
How do I get a lava mutation?
Wait for the Lava Event. Lava-mutated eggs only exist while that event is running — the floating tag on the egg reads Lava, and the banner 'Lava Event has ended!' marks the close of the window. In our source playthrough the lava-tagged egg turned up in the deep ocean zone.
Does a mutation increase cash per second?
Yes, mutations stack on top of the animal's base income, but the game never prints the multiplier. The clearest recorded comparison we found is a community run where a cosmic King Jaguar paid 1.75 trillion per second and a hacked cosmic King Jaguar of the same species paid 3 trillion — one observation, not a fixed rate.
Do mutations carry over when the egg hatches?
Yes. The mutation belongs to the egg before you steal it and stays with the animal afterwards: the pen keeps floating the Cosmic and Diamond labels above the hatched animal, and the Active Animals panel repeats them on its card. Nothing we saw removes a tag once it has rolled.
How do I farm mutated eggs?
Push to the deepest zone your wing stamina allows, because the mutant candidates in our footage all sat in the late zones — deep ocean, deep sea and volcano. Read the floating tag before you commit, bank the egg before an event banner closes, and move it into a pen slot on the same trip.

Mutations are bonus tags the game rolls on top of an egg’s rarity. Splashy and Lava arrive with timed events, and Splashy gives every egg a 15% chance while its window runs. Diamond and Cosmic appear as permanent tags on the animal card after hatching, and a tagged animal keeps its tag for life.

What Are Mutations in +1 Wings For Eggs?

A mutation is a second label that rides on top of rarity. Rarity is the word your egg already carries — Common, Uncommon, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Secret, Eternal. A mutation is the extra name beside it, and the game shows the two next to each other instead of hiding them in a stat sheet.

Our source playthrough makes the pattern easy to read. The pen’s Active Animals panel prints the Pink Frog as Common with Diamond, Cosmic underneath, the Cursed Dragon as Secret with None, and the Ice Wolf as Epic with Cosmic. That third line is the mutation slot. An animal can carry more than one tag at once, and “None” is a real outcome — most animals never roll one at all.

Rarity is not a mutation, and the two are decided at different moments. Hatching, rarity odds and hatch timers are covered in the pets and hatching guide; this page stays on the tag that sits on top.

How Do Mutated Eggs Spawn?

Every mutation window we caught follows the same shape: a countdown icon sits in the bottom-right corner, an event tag starts floating in the world, and the tag stops when the window closes.

Splashy is a 15% roll for the length of its window. The game announces its own rate: “15% chance an Egg will spawn with [Splashy] mutation!”. In our capture that notice arrived with a blue splash icon and a countdown reading 02:53, and the same icon read 02:29 a few seconds later on the next page of footage — so Splashy is a timed window, not a permanent roll on every egg in the game.

Lava is event-gated the same way. Lava-mutated eggs only exist while the Lava Event runs. In our source run the player reached the deep ocean zone, found a narwhal egg with the floating tag Lava and a fire countdown in the corner, and then the banner “Lava Event has ended!” appeared and the mutant was gone. The tag is the tell: it floats above the egg next to the Steal prompt, so you can read the mutation before you commit to the carry.

Event mutations announce themselves. A Cosmic Event drops a purple banner across the screen and washes the base in colour, and the animals in that pen then float Cosmic above their heads. The game also broadcasts rare spawns into the server chat — “SECRET! Mystical Dragon Egg spawned in Arctic”, “ETERNAL! Kraken Egg spawned in Deep Ocean” — which matters because a mutated egg is a race, not a private find.

Potion is the one we could not pin down. The same playthrough calls out a Kraken egg “on potion” in the volcano zone, which is where the potion-mutation name comes from, but the footage never shows a frame that labels an egg Potion and never quotes a rate. Treat potion as a word to look for on the tag rather than a documented spawn rule.

What Does a Mutation Change About Your Income?

It raises cash per second — but the honest answer is that the game never prints a multiplier, so nobody can quote an official percentage. What the UI does show is the mutation tags and the resulting per-second value on the same card, which is why the spread between a fresh animal and a tagged one decides whether a risky run was worth it.

The clearest recorded comparison in our sources comes from a community playthrough of the same game. The player opened a cosmic King Jaguar that paid 1.75 trillion per second, then a hacked cosmic King Jaguar — same species, same rarity — that paid 3 trillion per second. His own guess on camera was that the hacked tag roughly doubles the payout, which is close to how that single pair of numbers landed. We repeat the figures because the video recorded them; we are not presenting them as a rate. The hacked tag itself is an event tag applied the same way as a mutation, and we only have it from that transcript, not from a frame we could verify.

Mutants are also simply rarer, and rarity does the heavy lifting on its own. The Void Phoenix Egg we captured sits in the pen as a 1h 24m hatch with an Eternal tag, and its Index card reads Found in Void / Eternal / $742.71M per second — nearly a billion a second from one animal. Pen economics are covered in the how to get cash guide, and the rebirth and offline cash guide explains why that number keeps running while you are logged out.

How Do You Farm Mutated Eggs?

  1. Push as deep as your stamina allows. Every mutant candidate in our footage sat in a late zone — deep ocean, deep sea or volcano. Eggs and areas maps which nests live where, and the wings tier list tells you which wings reach them without a forced landing.
  2. Read the floating tag before you grab. The mutation name floats over the egg; the Steal prompt names the species underneath. Two eggs can share one platform with different tags, and the tag is the entire reason to take the riskier one.
  3. Bank it before the event closes. An event mutant in your hands is worth nothing until it is in the pen, and the lava window shuts on a global banner mid-flight. If you are still learning the routes, practise them with the how to steal eggs guide.
  4. Fill a spare pen slot on the same trip. Mutations do not fade, so a tagged animal becomes permanent income the moment it is placed. The pets and hatching guide covers the timer side.
  5. Claim the free animals too. Group and event rewards hand out animals with no flight at all, and the current list lives on our working codes and free rewards page.

Which Mutation Facts Are Still Unverified?

Two gaps are worth naming, because plenty of guides fill them with invented numbers:

  • No official multiplier. We have not seen a screen, tooltip or patch note that states how much a mutation adds. The hacked comparison above is one recorded pair, and the Splashy rate is the only percentage the game itself prints.
  • Potion, Rainbow and Golden tags. Our footage shows those words floating on eggs, but never with a rate or a documented trigger, so we do not attach numbers to them. The safest read is that the floating tag is always the mutation name and the Steal prompt is always the species.

If a future patch changes the mutation list, the fastest way to check is to fly to a late zone and read the tags on the eggs rather than trusting a spreadsheet. Zone-by-zone egg locations are kept in the eggs and areas guide, and the beginner guide covers getting there at all.
